No disrespect at all to #metoo, because, well, #metoo. But I was struck this morning by a #notme: driving along, noticed my headlight was out. Didn’t start worrying that I would get shot or deported if I got pulled over. So I kept speeding. At that moment, a CHP motorcycle zipped past me. And kept right on going. So yeah, I’ll take my car to the mechanic and I’ll feel a little icked out when the car dudes stare at me (and I know that other women, trans folks of all genders, and many men will endure much worse every day). But I’ll also #sayhername and remember #SandraBland and so many others like her, because #BlackLivesMatter to #metoo.
