I can never unsee this.

November 16, 2016October 21, 2024Racial and social justice

This morning at San Vicente and Wilshire – and yet so far away from my LA and my America – I personally saw this hate crime sign that someone carefully painted, brought here, and placed against a bus shelter. I’m putting the pic below so please be careful in scrolling down if you don’t want it to hit you in the face.

I reported it to LAPD. I was afraid to drive back around and take it away personally because who knows if the person who put it there is still watching? I am small. Maybe I should have been braver. I’m sorry and shaken and more shocked than I should be.
