One lunge forward, one lunge back

feet and shins sitting crosslegged on a yoga mat on a wooden floorYoga practice has changed as I’m aging. No longer “advancing,” just reclaiming the same flexibility over and over again. Which might seem frustrating. Except: I also wash the same dishes and clothes over and over so I won’t get sick from trying to keep using them. I brush the same teeth over and over. I fill up the fruit bowl and the veggie crisper over and over. Every day I get tired and sleep again. Again and again and again over days, weeks, years. It’s okay. Lucky in all of these examples if I can just keep the healthy circles going.
